Description
This is a full-day event devoted to contemporary children's/YA literature from Sweden.
Five Swedish authors have been booked to attend:
- Per Gustavsson
- Annelis Johansson
- Cilla Naumann
- Frida Nilsson
- Malte Persson
The target audience is translators who have English as their target language. Some of the presentations by authors will be in Swedish.
Participants are requested to translate brief extracts from Swedish children's/YA books for discussion in the workshops and to submit their translations via email before the event. SELTA members have already received the workshop source texts and instructions. The workshop materials will be emailed to non-SELTA participants within a few days after their bookings are received.
Editors from UK publishing companies will also be invited to attend, so translators can also meet and chat to them.
The ticket price for current SELTA members is £25. Tickets for members of other organisations such as ITI and SFÖ cost £40 each.
Full details of the venue and room number will be provided after registration. The venue is on UCL's Bloomsbury campus (nearest Tube: Russell Square).
